Fellow staff is ok but as far as management and supervisors they are almost always very rude and distant. This is a very hostile work environment, management is never available and when she is actually in the office she is very unapproachable. When changes happen, you will not find out until a month or two later or when you break that new rule that you didn’t know existed and you get scolded out for it. Management is very manipulative and attempt to twist a concern back on you as if you’re the problem. If help is asked of you? You need to be a team player as we should all be willing to give and receive help. Need Help? Does not exist and you’re expected to suck it up. Need supplies? Buy them yourself as it can take months to get the essentials to do your work. No sense of accomplishment just a sense of failure in all you do. Hypocrisy central is a good name for this specific office. If they make a mistake then you have to understand that we all make mistakes. Make a mistake? You get treated like a criminal. New staff are trained for a day and expected to survive on their own. The meetings are a way for supervisors to blame staff for not working up to par. So many meetings with no accomplishments in sight. Computers, printers, fax machines, phones don’t work and it’s blamed on staff for being too dumb to use the equipment. Management uses spies that often just gossip about you with no facts, but still you’re guilty of the accusations. Staff just gossip about one another and about patients. They laugh and laugh in their private “meetings” and yet blame you for having questions. Management does not care about anyone unless you’re buddies with them. I recommend that there be a culture amongst staff that PAs - more. Thus, hopefully in the future upcoming years, they will develop better workflow processes that can allow an APP to grow. The great thing about Montage is that they are continuously trying to improve themselves. *This reflects my experience at the time at Montage. lack of autonomy or independent decision making lack of agreement amongst middle management and multiple providers often times doing activities of a RN, MA, or LVN. limited opportunity for advancement or growth management is very nice in terms of their overall intentions to increase access to care and promote work- like balance However, if you are new to the specialty and are looking for clear expectations, and for growth at a provider level, this may not be a good fit for you.Īlso, there is little to no APP leadership, so thus not as much understanding about how to utilize an APP. If you are a highly experienced APP who is already able to function autonomously in the chosen specialty and already have a very clear sense of your role in the chosen specialty, then this would be a good fit for you. However, the lack of a cohesive agreement amongst middle management and multiple doctors can make it difficult to learn and grow.
